Hey!! How are you all doing?
I should have written this entry long before, but now I guess I have more things to tell than some weeks before.
First of all, I hope I'll be uploading more works than in last months (and year(s?)), I started a master's degree that I found to hate from the very beginning, and that made me loose the will to draw and do all king of things related to art basically. I'm still studying, or at least attending to its "lessons", but I've realized that I miss a lot drawing and creating and imagining and I want to start again. I've noticed that it takes me more time to develop and finish my works than before, serves me right.
I've entered a contest named "Arteshop Bilbao", in which I have one month (May) to prepare an art project for a shop located in Bilbao. Luck has been on my side, as I've been assigned the shop Derby Gardeazabal. Here they sell tailor-made suits and shirts, as well as suits, shirts, belts and other products from the best brands. I've already designed the idea, I just have to specify some details and hope that the shop owner likes it and gives me the approval so I work on it. I can't give any more details yet, but I'm sure that more than one will like it. Surfing the internet in research of Illustration contests, I saw one about illustrating some old storybooks for a website that has them hosted on it. After having a look at them, I chose R.L Stevenson's Treasure Island. I didn't read this book before, but I couldn't choose any other as I'm deeply in love with the movie Muppets Teasure Island (Brian Henson, 1996). I'm still reading the book, but I'll start with this project once I finish with the first one.
I think that's all for now. Apart form the master's degree I'm also studying French and German, and even if it is in a beginner level it doesn't leave me much free time, but I really want to start again with my pencils and paint.
I see that most of you have kept hard working, that gives me courage to keep up. Don't stop doing what you love

Ya he vuelto!
Good morning!!Tras no sé cuanto tiempo off, he decidido volver a empezar a subir cositas, eso sí, poco a poco me temo. No es que no haya estado haciendo nada... (os dejo aquí la dirección de mi blog, quizás suba alguno de los proyectos aquí también amaiablesa.blogspot.com.es/) pero he estado ocupada con cosas que no estás muy relacionadas al mundillo del arte.

Puedo decir que este es un buen comienzo del año. No por abundancia, todos sabemos cómo está la situación... , pero sí por sorpresas y emoción. Después de unas navidades tranquilas con toda la familia, los reyes me han traido el mini-peluche de Desdentao
, de la película Cómo entrenar a tu dragón de la cual soy una gran admiradora, no solo por la calidad artística sino también por la calidad del guión y de la dirección, que dan como resultado una película fantástica y muy entretenida. >>I think this year has started quite well for me. , the dragon from How to train your dragon movie. I really admire that movie, not only because of its artistical quality, but for the great script and direction, which gave us a beautiful, fantastic and very entertaning movie.

aweeeesome!!!Por si fuera poco, esta misma mañana ha llegado el libro que encargué: Cuentos de los hermanos Grimm ilustrado por Janusz Grabianski. Es una edición de la década de los 60. Me enamoré de este ilustrador mientras hacía mi trabajo de fin de grado (que os recomiendo leer y opinar si os gusta el mundillo de la ilustración: La interpretación en la ilustración de cuentos ). Lo encontré buscando libros de caperucita roja en la librería de mi barrio, en el libro Cuentos de Perrault también ilustrado por él. Es un hombré que, con tan solo pinceladas que parecen sencillos garabatos o esbozos, es capaz de mostrar con detalle tanto coloridas como monocromáticas texturas, sombras, movimientos, sensaciones, ... ¡Es una pasada! Y tan solo con lo que parecen ser tinta, acuarelas o temperas aguadas y ceras en ocasiones.

It's from the 60s, and I found him while I was doing the final project for my career (I encourage you having a look at it and giving your opinion to me, even if it's in Spanish, I think you'll find it interesting if you like illustrations: La interpretación en la ilustración de cuentos ). The first time I saw this artist's work was in the book Perrault's Fairy Tales, while I was looking for an illustration of Little Red Ridding Hood. He only uses simple brush-strokes that seem simple and sketchy, but he gets very detailed (full colored and also monocromatic) textures, shadows, movements, sensations, ... ¡It's crazy! And only with ink, watercolors and waxes sometimes.
